This
region includes all of Europe, America, Australia and New Zealand.
The spending on charitable projects in all of these areas goes up
to USD 18 millions which represents 18% of the total spending of
the Foundation on charitable projects. Such projects covered most
of the Occidental countries according to the different needs of
Muslim communities there especially in the fields of culture,
education and religion in order the preserve the Islamic identity.
Here are some of the most distinctive projects:
SWEDEN
With
a total cost reaching up to USD 3.5 millions, the Foundation
established Sheikh Zayed Islamic Centre in the Swedish capital:
Stockholm with the co-operation of “Islamiska Forbundet I
Stockholm”.
The
said Centre is the biggest in the Scandinavian countries and it
has been categorized by the Swedish government as one of the
tourist attractions of Sweden.
BRITAIN
The
Foundation established Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Slough (a city near
London) with a budget of USD 3 millions, and it is also one of the
most prominent Islamic landmarks in Britain.
FRANCE
The
Foundation provided support to a number of Arabic and Islamic
colleges and welfare associations and centres there. Furthermore,
it has set up a hostel for girl-students in the College of Islamic
Studies, which is part of the European Institute of Human Sciences
in Saint-leger-de-Fougeret.
GERMANY
Similarly,
the Foundation is providing help to many Islamic and welfare
centres in addition to printing and distributing translation of
the meanings of the Holy Quran in Deutsche.
BOSNIA
AND HERZEGOVINA
In
order to alleviate the ordeal and sufferings of the Muslim Bosnian
brothers, the Foundation took special care of their needs. Since
its establishment, it continued to provide all kinds of support to
Bosnian people in all circumstances they were going through, in
addition to emergency relief aid it sent after the end of the
Balkan war. Within the process of rebuilding Bosnia, the
Foundation is presently carrying out many distinctive projects
such as providing eleven ambulances and distributing them on
different Bosnian open cities. This project was executed in
co-operation with UNICEF with a cost of five hundred thousand US
dollars totally financed by the Foundation.
The
Project of Distributing Cows on Returnee Bosnian Families:
In
its effort to rebuild Bosnia and Herzegovina and reintegrate
Bosnian displaced families, the Foundation carried out a
pioneering development and social project in distributing a number
of pre-inseminated milk cows to hundreds of returnee Bosnian
families to help them resettle in their villages of origin
destroyed by the war. This project received international welcome
and its cost in the first phase was half million US dollars and it
was executed in partnership with Islamic relief Agency.
THE
U.S.A.
The
Foundation extends its help to many social and welfare
associations and centres there. One of its main projects was
participating in the construction of Al-Fatir Mosque in Chicago.
NEW
ZEALND
With
a cost of USD 3.5 millions, the Foundation has set up Zayed
College for Girls in Auckland. The New Zealand Ministry of
Education considered this project as one of the most distinctive
colleges there.
